Following the success of the last year's London and Providence
events, the Pasadena School of Tai Chi will be hosting the
Yeung
Ma-Lee Student Association's International Tai Chi Event.
This is the first time California has had the opportunity
to host such a training event.
Instruction will be provided by Mr.
John Conroy, Mr.
James Uglow, and Mr.
Joseph Balthazar, the founding members of the YMLSA. They
will be joined by Mr.
Robert Boyd, second disciple of Master Ip Tai Tak.
The event will be held over three days, June 25-27, and will
be open to the general public. All levels are invited to attend,
from those having no Tai Chi experience to advanced practitioners.
Training will cover:
- The most basic principles of Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan,
including:
- Internal softening
- Elemental Actions of the Tai Chi Form
- Tai Chi Form, Part One
- Pushing Hands Fundamentals:
- Master Ip's Tai Chi Circles
- Rooting
- Sticking and Listening
- Bursting Power (Fa Guang)
- Martial Applications
- Eight Changes of Tai Chi Chuan
- Using internal energy to neutralize attack
- Uprooting opponent
